Biography
Vicky Dhillon was elected to serve as the City Councillor for Wards 9 and 10 in the 2006 municipal election.
Councillor Dhillon now works full time as a Councillor for the City of Brampton. Dhillon is an active member of the community and brings with him three years Federal Political experience. He is also on the board of directors for the Association of Indo-Canadians.
Dhillon is the Chair of the Works & Transportation Committee and a member of Toronto Conservation Authority’s Humberwest Watershed Alliance as well as being an alternate for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority Consultative Committee. Other committees are the Election Ad Hoc, Library, Seniors and Citizens Interviews 2006 - 2010.
“The constituents in Wards 9 and 10 embrace our community diversity, cultural differences and stand together with the residents of this great City, united by a desire to have common local issues prioritized and responded to in a timely manner,” said Dhillon.
For his community work, the Peel Multi-cultural Council presented Dhillon with a Volunteer Appreciation Award. He also received the President Scouts Award.
Dhillon is committed to improving the lives of the residents of Wards 9 and 10 by instituting the building of future parks, recreational centres and libraries. One of his many challenges is to see that all residents including children have a safe, and healthy environment to live and play in.
Dhillon’s priorities for the upcoming term include: establishing working partnerships with all levels of government; improving regional and local road systems; increasing programs to celebrate the diversity and cultures of Brampton residents; and protecting woodlots, marshes and wetlands.
Dhillon has lived in Ward 9 for the past 15 years. He is married to Harman and the couple have two children, a son Parvesh and daughter Manreet.
